Update Mar 14 2007  Below is an update from Cheryl in an email to Guild member Dotte Shaffer.

Hello D,

I am recovering fast. I've been strict about sitting around giving my brain "time out" so it can recover fast. I sleep off and on during the day. Trying to build up my strength for starting chemo on Sunday night. Temodar (chemo) is a set of pills you take when right before bedtime. At least I don't have to sit in a hospital with an IV to get the chemo into my body. I was on Temodar for 1.5 years after my surgery in Aug 2004. I handled it OK before. Hopefully good again. I hope to be at the Writer's Guild meeting on Monday, unless the chemo knocks me to the ground Sunday night. I wouldn't want to barf on everyone!

I have not worked on my book since surgery. It's overwhelming for my brain right now. I hope I get motivated to work on it again soon. Maybe if I make it to the writer's guild meeting, it will motivate me.

Good news is, I've not had any seizures!!! (most people do after brain surgery). So I hope to go off the anti-seizure meds soon (in 4 weeks). The Dilantin meds make me feel out of it.
Matt loves the Decadron I am on. A steriod that reduces brain swelling after surgery. The lovely part of the drug is, that it makes you VERY hungery all the time. I've gained 9 pounds in 3 weeks!!!!! But the part that Matt likes most, is that it makes you VERY angry and mean!!! Sometimes I feel like hurting someone. Poor Matt. At least he forgives me since he knows it is the drugs. I hope to go off that in a few days. You guys at the Writer's Guild would definately NOT want to see me on that drug!!!! Who knows what I would say!!!

Thank you for letting me know you were thinking of me! Cheryl
