Hello William,
Just wanted to say hello and let you know that I think of you all at the writer's guild often. So many wonderful memories of evenings spent with you all. Just wanted to let you know, that just because I don't come to the meetings anymore, I'm still thinking of you guys often.
I've still been busy writing. But not book stories. Speeches. Over this last year, I've been busy speaking at brain tumor event's Since I am such a long term survivor, of such a serious terminal cancer, I've been asked many time to speak at brain tumor events. In April 2009 I was flown to Washington D.C. by the National Brain Tumor Society to speak at a large (over 10,000 people) fundraising event for brain cancer. Then in Sept. 2009 spoke at a brain tumor conference in Ashland, Oregon. Then in March 2010 spoke at our church. April 2010 spoke at a large fundraising event in Bainbridge Wa. Now a large pharmaceutical company in Boston MA is flying me there to speak at one of their events (they even bought 50 of my books!).
So, I am still writing, but not books. I REALLY appreciate all I have learned from you guys. If I ever get back to writing stories again, I'll be there! Just been busy.
Also, an MRI just found a tumor in my liver. Not sure what type it is yet. Our local radiologist can't identify what type of tumor (hopefully not cancer!) Sending all of the info south to UCSF to get a second opinion. I'm in peace about it.
