Dear Jo and Others,
Took a few days off during this Easter week-end to a game preserve in Central Uganda. Saw lots of critters from alligators clacking their jaws on the shores of the white Nile to most regal Giraffes.
Met a large bull elephant in the narrow road who wouldn't let us past, in fact started steadily walking toward us and we backed rapidly away with him continuing to advance.
I'd love to tell you of the many heroes I've met and will some time, including Solomon, who helped about ten young men from the LRA escape. Even hid one under the bed in his own house for a while (two Months).
The LRA got suspicious, burnt up his motorcycle and he had to flee. We visited the home area recently of Kony Joseph who started the very sad revolution in the late 1980's. The people there say they want him to quit fighting and come home and they will be willing to forgive him. I will hope to send lots more details in the near future.
Patients are most interesting. Saw a little fellow born the same morning, brought in by his GM. He had a cough. Had congestion in one lung base. Probably had aspirated. No hospital facilities or even midwives are available in that area. It is very remote with long rough roads.
I have to stop for now. I sure miss you my dear wife. Love, Ken
